Sharing Our Plans For 2021

As we head into 2021, we are excited to begin implementing several business development plans to improve the operational efficiency of the Caribbean Sustainable Fisheries farm. Plans include further advancing the technology we use on site and a conscious effort to build on our ever-growing sustainability agenda.

 

By utilizing new technologies and combining them with best-practice farming techniques, we hope to continue to deliver world-class products in the most efficient way. Research into new and exciting innovations is well underway, with plans to implement farm technology improvements, including further automation into various aspects, in the very near future.

 

2021 marks the start of the transition to incorporate renewable energy into the farm, supporting and further building on our commitment to long-term sustainability.

 

By implementing both technological advances and renewable energy innovations, we hope to build on our ability to deliver a farmed lobster product that has thrived in pristine clear water environments that are very similar to those naturally found in the Caribbean.

 

 

In January and February of each year, we deploy our custom traps into local waters to coincide with the approaching settlement season for larval sized lobsters (puerulus). Our specialized trapping methods have been designed to ensure that there is no bycatch to non-target species. This innovative method enables us to capture lobsters at a life stage when natural mortality is extremely high, so that the impact on wild stocks is minimal. Our team consistently monitors the local conditions closely and begins checking the traps routinely from late February through to July.
